Fear and phobias

This post is regarding creepy crawlies so tread with caution 😃

There was a time when I would be so scared of cockroaches that I would literally run out of the room when I saw one, esp. the flying ones.

Now when I see a cockroach, I spray on it, take it with a tissue and throw it out. Quite a change isn’t it?!

Not that I’ve started loving them, not a chance! I still get disgusted by them and if given a chance would never ever interact with them! But since that’s not possible, I’m glad I can handle them on my own, instead of screeching for help. So what changed?

I’ve tapped on this fear. I combined tapping with exposure therapy for myself. So I would tap and then approach the roach gingerly as if it’s a bomb! It helped. Slowly the fear lessened. And now I don’t even tap, I just deal with it. I might still get terrified if it lands on me but that’s just another layer that I need to work on. But for now I’m good.

Which creepy crawlies are your fear-favourites?
